That’s a critical question for any company in the GenAI space. As the PM, my primary goal would be to build a safe, responsible platform. I’d approach this with a multi-layered defense strategy, combining clear policies with robust product features to enable creativity while proactively mitigating harm.

Our first line of defense is proactive prevention. This starts with a clear Acceptable Use Policy and powerful prompt filtering to block harmful requests before they ever reach the model. For anything that might slip through, our second layer is real-time detection. We would instantly scan every generated image for harmful content before it’s shown to the user. We’d also implement digital watermarking on all images to ensure provenance and help combat misinformation.

Finally, we need a strong reactive system. This means giving users a simple way to report harmful content, which feeds into a queue for our human moderation team. This human oversight is crucial for fairness and context. We’d enforce our policies with a transparent strike system and offer an appeals process to build user trust. This isn’t a one-time setup; it’s an ongoing commitment to adapt and protect our community.
