A Dedicated Investor Intelligence Tab Inside LinkedIn

A dedicated investor space inside LinkedIn, for users whose signals currently drown in a generalist feed

The problem they went after

LinkedIn treats every user the same regardless of why they are there. Investors need real-time awareness of market trends, deal flow and portfolio company activity, but get the same generalist feed and navigation as everyone else. Critical investment signals are buried in noise, and there is no dedicated space to monitor the companies or sectors an investor actually cares about.

What they actually did

The proposal adds an Investor Section, reached after login through an additional biometric verification step. Inside are four areas: a Home feed filtered to chosen investment domains such as finance, technology or consumer goods; a Network tab showing other verified investors with similar profiles; an Analytics tab with market trends and positioning data; and a Portfolio tab surfacing posts and updates from companies the investor has backed. Following, commenting and sharing carry over, so investors engage with portfolio companies and peers without switching platforms.

What you can take from it

Worth stealing

  • Biometric verification used as both a gate and a trust signal
  • Four tabs: filtered Home, Network, Analytics, Portfolio
  • Portfolio tab surfaces updates from companies already backed
  • Existing social actions preserved inside the new section

PMs carving a dedicated experience for a high-value segment inside a general platform

The transferable bitThe interesting choice is treating verification as a product feature rather than a security afterthought. Biometric entry and verified-investor networking are what make the space feel worth returning to. It is also a clean example of extending a platform for one high-value segment without forking the experience for everyone else.
