Closing the gap between Flipkart's web comparison and its mobile app, with AI doing the summarising
Flipkart's mobile app has no working way to compare products in high-consideration categories like electronics. Shoppers hold specifications in their heads across product pages, get tired, get confused, and finish the decision on a competitor's site. The website already supports side-by-side comparison, so the gap opens up exactly where the purchase stakes are highest.
Five approaches were scored with RICE, ranging from straight web parity to an AI-powered smart compare. The winner, at a score of sixteen, simplifies specifications into curated buckets like camera quality, battery, performance and display, then layers on AI review summaries, pros and cons, and trust scores. Simplified Specification Compare comes along as the quick win. Wireframes cover a compare radio button in search results, a floating action button that appears once two products are selected, and the compare page itself.

The transferable bitOne high-effort recommendation ships alongside one quick win drawn from the same scored list, so something lands while the larger build runs. That pairing is worth copying. The measurement is honest about attribution too, tracking whether users add to cart from the compare page rather than assuming comparison caused any purchase that followed it.
